

There will be a live stream of the mass at In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to one of the following: Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420, Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Lawrence will be laid to rest in Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors following mass. Mass will be held Monday, Novemat 10:30 am at Saint Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, Ohio.

There will be visitation on Sunday, Novemfrom 6:00-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH. He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years, Evelyn Tranter (Perron), his four children, Maryanne Tranter (Leo Rivas) of Jinotega, Nicaragua, Jennifer Petry (Brian) of Columbus, Ohio, Christopher Tranter of Houston, Texas, and Matthew Tranter (Kellie) of Dallas, Texas his sister, Mary Elizabeth Matuniak (Karl) of Hamilton Township, New Jersey grandchildren Alexandria and Tony Tranter, Sydney and Ethan Carroll, Claire Petry, Tatum and Kasen Sharp, Kourtlynn and Kynndall Tranter and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Tranter and Mary Bernadette Tranter (McDonald), and his sister, Charlotte “Gail” Adams.

Lawrence loved first and foremost his family, his country, the GOP, the NRA, country music, gummy candies, and pepper on everything. Through the years, he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and retired after 30 years of loyal service to his country. He was born on Novemin Trenton, New Jersey where he lived until he entered the Air Force in 1961. On November 6, 2021, Lawrence Barry Tranter, “Chief”, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
